RESIDENTIAL TWIN TOWERS, MUMBAI |
This twin towers complex is part of the residential campus and has 128 apartments. These are the tallest towers in the campus and located on a sloping site. One arrives by a ramp in the central area of site getting access to entrance lobbies of 2 towers opposite each other. The configuration of the buildings is Stilt + 16 floors with four flats per floor totaling 128 units. Each unit is of 2BHK i.e 2 bedrooms, hall and kitchen. Each flat is planned with complete cross ventilation and natural light for every room. A common lobby with 2 lifts and 2 fire staircases connects 4 flats on either side. The large flat columns of rooms are taken at corners and projected on external side by one meter which acts as vertical fins of the building protecting the windows from sun and rain as well as forming elevation feature. The fins are connected by horizontal chajja slabs for shading the windows. It’s a green multi-storied building complex planned for natural ventilation, natural light, heat insulation on external facade so the energy costs are substantially lower than conventional apartments throughout the life cycle of buildings. The site planning and roads all around the buildings are designed for minimal cutting and filling to reduce change of natural topography.
