MODERN COMMUNITY HALL + COMMERCIAL COMPLEX, HYDERABAD |
Community Hall building is designed to create a symbolic form representing a CULTURAL institution. Natural light is used as design element to create inspiring pleasant ambiance in the entire building. The site has 3 sides facing the road and its 2 corners are street junctions.The Building is planned to invite the visitors from all 3 sides by the steps. the architectural design responds to the site's urban context. The Main Entrance is designed to have direct entry to the first floor Marriage/ multi-function hall by the wide steps on the East side. Its wide proportions at the strategic location of corner is symbolize and invite people inside the building.
The Marriage hall and dining hall is a community space on 1st & 2nd floor with glass walls directly visible from the 3 sides of the site. It’s a celebration of community functions and its visibility of colorful people and functions inside. It would be beautifully and brightly lit during the evening cultural functions. During the cultural or marriage or ritualistic functions, the building facade would make visible the colorful Indian celebrations (of flowers, fabrics, music, etc.) from inside to outside and whole city would participate in it. At night the lighting glow within will be visible. The mural on front external wall would in Deccan stone representing the great sculptural and stone temple architecture of Andhra Pradesh.
In all India national competition this project received first prize.
